A hillbilly country welcome to you! We thought you might be stopping by. That's why we kept the dogs tied up, our welcome mat and door string out for you. Pull up a chair and let me tell 'em who we are. We are Jerry and Sandy Miller, the owners of jerrysplantsonline.com, which is a part of Po'Folks Ozark Mountain Enterprises. I'm better known as the "Hillbilly Gardener". We live on the beautiful Ozarks plateau of Missouri where we raised our two children and are now helping to raise our two beautiful granddaughters.

The Hillbilly Gardener uses a lot of techniques in the Garden of Weedin.

I am proud to be a frugal gardener that has been tending my Garden of Weedin and enjoying the outdoors for more than 45 years now and I enjoy sharing with other gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts alike. For me, this is and should be, the ultimate goal of every gardener and outdoor enthusiast. For me gardening and outdoor living go hand in hand and are each an extension of the other. Being a frugal gardener is a matter of choice born out of necessity that has led to a life-style. I dislike waste and I dislike seeing others waste time, effort, resources and especially their hard-earned money. Let's face it, times are rather tough right now for most of us and few folks can afford to waste what we have.

I started web-surfing for information to complement and expand the knowledge I already possessed soon after the Internet started to take off back in the early 90's. Back then, information on gardening and outdoor living was hard to come by and what there was, was pretty lean and had very little meat on it (so to speak). Since that time, I have amassed a lot of information to complement my own and it is my desire to pass on as much information as others will accept. Gardening is indeed a relaxing, therapeutic and profitable pass time, but like most folks, I am not content to merely raise plants here in the Garden of Weedin. I want to learn, grow and be the best gardener I can be and knowledge is power over the present and future of my outdoor world here on this Ozarks plateau where I live.

The Hillbilly Gardener is a frugal gardener that believes in using the organic methods whenever posible in his Garden of Weedin.

As is the case for many humans, recent health issues have caused the Hillbilly Gardener to learn first-hand the importance of learning new ways to enjoy gardening and the outdoors. I have learned the importance of learning ways to do things in a way that has less physical impact on the body and how important gardening and the outdoors can be on a persons physical and mental well-being. The act of gardening and enjoying the outdoors here at the Garden of Weedin or your special place you call home, can have a huge impact on ones mobility, the ability to enjoy life and to add value to life. The act of raising a garden and enjoying the outdoors lends itself to giving people with mobility and physical issues a sense of ability and self-worth. For this reason, it has become a goal of ours to promote methods that promote mobility and accomplishment for those with physical impairment and it is for this and many other reasons that we keep our welcome mat down and the door string out for all who visit here.

I have come to enjoy the many ways that valuable information comes to me. Whether through practical experience, well written articles or life-experiences passed on from others, it is all good and useful. I enjoy hearing from others about their experiences and passing these valuable tips on to others. This is why I have gone to great lengths to make it as easy as possible to contact me through our websites. I also enjoy letting all readers know who was gracious enough to share this information.
