The Hillbilly Gardener is in every way a frugal gardener and proud of it, but he can never be accused of being a master chef. However, my Garden of Weedin does provide me with many opportunities to try out a great many garden recipies for using that fresh produce that come to me from many sources. Home garden cooking is a primary reason for my inexpensive gardening efforts. Fresh produce from the Garden of Weedin tastes so much better than anything I will find in any supermarket and so much less expensive. For the frugal gardener, trying to hold the bottom line on their budget and yet wants to enjoy the best, tastiest and healthiest food possible, what could be better than home garden cooking using garden recipies that feature produce so lovingly grown at home.

Frugal cooking, like frugal gardening is simply getting the most out of everything you use. It's a matter of not wasting what you have in your home garden cooking. But, cooking from the Garden of Weedin is in no way simply about inexpensive gardening. In fact, it would probably be more accurate to say that the Hillbilly Gardener does what he does in order to try and experience new things, both in his garden and in his home garden cooking. The Garden of Weedin provides me with the ability to eat healthy, good tasting foods in my garden recipies for less money and provides me with an assurance of what is in my food.

Let us not overlook the fact either, that a prudent gardener will from time to time have more produce than their traditional garden recipies will support. In other words – you run out of ways to fix a particular vegetable. The Hillbilly Gardener has always supported and encouraged sharing your bounty with those less fortunate than yourself. In fact, if you have the space, I encourage home gardeners to plant an extra row or two to give to your local food pantry or other organization that helps to feed the poor. But, in any case, it is our hope that we can provide you with some new possibilities for ways to use your gardens bounty in your home garden cooking with tasty garden recipies for you to try. Or perhaps, simply remind you of a simple dish you have forgotten.
